the first (also known as purely yours) by a million times, it has speed
and suction control, the medela set up doesn't, the more expensive medela
pumps are good apparently.

Wendy,

I don't know much about those 2 pumps as I have always had the double
electric type pumps. I have heard from others that they prefer the
Avent Isis pump to the Medela Mini-Electric. The Avent Isis is a
manual pump, but has a really good reputation.

Both Ameda and Medela have double electric pumps. Medela's is called
the Pump in Style. I can't recall the name of Ameda's double electric
pump right now.

Whisperwear is a new pump that is small enough to wear under cloths
and is fairly quiet.

Whittlestone has something called a Breast Expresser which is the only
pump to express milk by compression rather than by suction. It is a
gentler way to express milk.
