Red veins on eyelids?

Just curious...since birth, Rachel has had red veins on her eyelids. The
doctors have never mentioned them so they must be normal. I've not been
arund many newborns and have never paid attention....is this common? When
does it go away? I looked closely today and it's just red veins, all over
her eyelids..........

Red veins on eyelids?

It's because their skin is kind of thin right now with not much fat. It's
normal and it will go away once she gets bigger and more fat cells.

My son has/had these too. They've faded with time. I think it's
because they're skin is just so thin when they are born that you can
see through it. In addition, my son is *very* fair skinned...a
redhead, so I think that is a factor.

Well, I read that the whiter or fairer the baby's skin, the more visible
the red veins are. But they are pretty normal.

My son had them when he was born as well. Our doctor told us it was because
a baby's skin is really thin that's why they're visible. Perfectly normal.
They faded with time anyway. Nothing to worry about.
