Nursery almost done...BUT.....

Ok, we I found the exact crib I wanted after looking all evening in the
blizzard...LOL.....and I finally found it!
BUT, they did'nt have any on stock, and they offered us the floor model,
I had some reservation at first because I looked at a high chair at
K-mart and they said they DO NOT sell the floor model, because of
cleaning chemicals they use on the floor,
Now where I bought this they have carpet and she assured me that all
they do to clean there is run the sweeper......
so I bought it....

Did anyone else ever buy the floor model?
if so did you still clean it with something?
and if so what?

Ps, they said the crib was just put up and not there too long, no other
burlington in my area had the crib on stock,,,,,and to order I had to
wait 6-12 weeks...;(

Do you think I made the right choice?

The crib is up and looks so nice....;-)))

Did they give you a discount? We've bought floor models of other furniture
for the house.. and electronics and stuff. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a
floor model crib if it were in good condition. We don't sell floor models
at Penney's because things have a tendancy to get pretty banged up.

I never bought a floor model crib, but I did buy a floor model carseat and
high chair. I'd buy more floor models, if I find good deals. They always
give a discount, or else I wouldn't buy it. I really see nothing wrong with
the floor model. In fact, I prefer them, because they are all put together.

We have a floor model exersaucer. We just wiped down the plastic surfaces
and washed the cloth ones in the washer. It was fine, and I wouldn't
hesitate to buy floor models of anything else.

That sounds *really* odd. A high chair is by definition supposed to be
extremely washable -- what on earth could they put on it that would make it
unsafe for use? Particularly if all they mean is that they washed their actual
FLOOR (not all the items out for sale on the floor) with some chemical or
other. It's not like you're going to put the legs of the high chair in the
baby's mouth anyway. (Mind you, I have had babies who did their level best to
do that very thing themselves, but it would hardly have been K-Mart's fault if
I had let them!)

Kmart told me they dont sell floor models because they can still get stock
in for that item and still want people to see it.

Yep we've bought a floor model jog stroller and high chair. No problems and
we got discounts on both.

I wouldn't have hesitated to buy a floor model. Have fun setting the
rest of the nursery up!
