My girlfriend and I have been together for 2 + years. It hasn't been

is a better idea not to get married. We have a good relationship right
now, but fear it will get worse after the child is born.

You are in an awful situation (do they not sell condoms in TN?), but
marrying her if you wouldn't marry her without her being pregnant may
only make matters worse. Fight for your rights however you can, but
realize that the cards are stacked against you. I wish you the best.

I cannot disagree with anything Beverly had articulated in her post, because
she is correct on every point. My only suggestion to you is work with your
girlfriend on finding the right balance in terms of support & parenting
time. Put it in writing and ask her to do the same. You have some time to
work through this. Chances are right now she has taken your decision to not
marry as rejection. It is difficult for a man & woman who are not married
to continue as boyfriend-girlfriend after the woman becomes pregnant. The
odds are against you. Therefore remaining calm and being fair are the only
two key elements in helping your personal situation. Also, once you finish
putting in writing what you want and have received her copy - go to an
attorney and get legal advice.

Good luck,
Tracy
