Help with housework?
 

We've got carpet throughout our house, except in our tiled kitchen. I just
don't have the time to clean the house like I want to (when it comes to the
floors, it's either run the vacuum or mop the kitchen, there's never time
for both) and I am looking for a solution other than one of those cleaning
services. I read the book "Nickeled and Dimed" and don't think I could
stand to pay those people to spread the dirt around my house instead of
getting rid of it. Saw a review of some of those robotic vacuums and
wondering what the online feedback was. I guess I would mainly be into the
Scooba?? since it could solve my mopping problem. I'm at the point where I
feel like the only other options would be quitting my job or putting the
kids up for adoption, and I don't think we'd be happy with either.

How old are the kids? Are they old enough to be
helping out?

Sheesh, sounds like you're busy. While the no job thing is appealing, I
am sure you're like most of us who need two incomes to get by. And I
would keep the kids, as I am sure the grandparents would be pretty
disappointed if they had no one to spoil. My good news is the Scooba
has been an awesome addition to our house. My kids love to watch it and
I haven't mopped in six months, although since it is circular I have to
wipe down corners on occassion. I was skeptical at first, but it
actually does what is says it can do?and that dirty water showed me just
how gross a family of four can be. But watch out, the kids can get
attached. My two year old named ours Nemo (there's a theme in ourlives
these days?Disney anyone?) and wants to take it outside to play. Good
