how much bigger can they get????

I'm 38 weeks pregnant and have gone from a 34B to a 40DD... I'm getting a
little frantic! It's getting more difficult to find bras. My milk hasn't
even come in yet! Seriously, can I expect them to get even bigger after
baby is born? With my first child, I didn't get anywhere near this big.
I'm getting new stretch marks and it's starting to bug me.

Most people go back down once engorgement is past, although you might
remain a size or two bigger. Not me, however - I'm up 3 cup sizes from
my non-pregnant, non-bfing self, with a 6mo baby. Last time, it took
near-weaning to get me back down to my regular size.

Have you really gone up from a 34 to a 40 in your bandsize, or are you
just getting the 40DD because DD is the largest cup size available
where you're shopping? Cup sizes go through the roof, but I'd be
surprised if your ribcage has increased 6 inches in diameter (1 or 2 is
more usual, IIRC). Not to scare you, but you could be more like a 36E
or even F. I only mention it b/c this is what happened to me, and then
I got measured and realized that I'd been getting too big a band size
and too small a cup size.

Good luck (eventually, they will go down again!),

Well, perhaps I'm measuring wrong. I guess I'd better look up the proper
way to fit a bra so I can be sure!

You can expect them to be temporarily larger whenever you are engorged,
but I think that most of the time, you have hit the limit.

Well, not necessarily - I was a 38D pre-preg, got up to a 40DD during preg,
and now while nursing, I'm a 38DDD. DD is almost 4 months, too - I had
hoped they'd go back down a bit so I could wear my old nursing bras from
DS - they are a 38DD. Oh, well. I will eventually get my body back . . .

I so frequently hear or read this. It just ain't so...

1. It's not your body. It is only being loaded to you. You
only own your spirit. (Some would even say you don't even own
that, but you know what I mean.)

2. Ageing is inescapable change. You can never to back to being
what you were before. Children or no children.

Now, when some women say that, what they mean is that they don't
have to share it so completely with a chld. That much I will
agree with.

Larry, while some women on here may hate you for those comments, it has
actually helped me feel a little better about things today, so thanks :)

You are not allowed to agree with me on two separate threads in the
same day. Save some for tomorrow.

And I for one have a DH who likes my body as it is. He likes the fact
that he can see signs of our beloved children on it. And it never came
back to pre-preg.

42 J.

Actually, two days after the birth, they were bigger than that.
