how do you know if you are still producing milk?
My daughter is almost 18 months old, and nurses pretty frequently
throughout the day but sleeps all night. I no longer wake up full, and in fact the other day went from 4pm one day to 8am the next day with no nursing, and I didn't feel full in the morning(that wasn't intentional, I was on the phone at bedtime and she asked dh to get her to bed...I had no idea until he came to me without her). I can't even tell if she is swallowing, she's so wiggly and making faces and funny noises as she sucks. I can't squeeze any milk out. So how do you know if you still make milk? Do you think toddlers care if the milk is there or not? Marie |

But in general, you will continue to produce milk from now until menopause. Once your body has figured out how to do it, it will remember. -- Chookie -- Sydney, Australia (Replace "foulspambegone" with "optushome" to reply) "Life is like a cigarette -- smoke it to the butt." -- Harvie Krumpet |

There is probably still milk there. After a while your body learns to
produce it only when/as needed. So if you have one that nurses only at night, you probably wont have much milk productiom till night time. "Marie" wrote in message ... "Marie" wrote in message .. So how do you know if you still make milk? Do you think toddlers care if the milk is there or not? Just this week I spent the day working outside, and it was windy. I must have been a little dehydrates, because as I was nursing DD (22 months, nurses pretty much only at bedtime) to sleep, she announced "dat na-na no work." So she tried the other one and it "no work" either. So she rolled over (in a bit of a huff, I believe) and went to sleep. So she noticed, but I haven't had any other complaints. -- Marnie -- |
