Parenting & kids - How big of a deal is head circumference of the baby?

Any measurement at or below the 3rd percentile would be a potential
indicator of intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR). I believe in some
cases, IUGR is seen more in the head circumference than in other
measurements as well, so that is definitely a indicator for a better look at
the baby. It may be that you are simply having a very small baby, but it is
wise for your doctor to refer you under the circumstances.

I've forgotten how far along you are. The good news is that if you are at
term, the treatment for IUGR is simple: give birth, the sooner the better.
IUGR is usually an indication that the uterine environment is deteriorating
in some way, but doesn't mean there is anything wrong with the baby at all.
