CPSC, Stanley Furniture Company Inc. Announce Recall of Cribs

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announces =

the following recall in voluntary cooperation with the firm below.=20
Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless=20
otherwise instructed.

Name of product: Isabella model cribs

Units: 318

Manufacturer: Stanley Furniture Company Inc., Stanleytown, Va.

Hazard: An incorrect screw (used to attach the movable gate) was=20
provided for the assembly of some of these cribs. The crib cannot be=20
assembled using this screw. However, if consumers have substituted their =

own screw, it may not properly hold the movable gate in place. The=20
result is a potential risk that a child could fall from the crib or=20
become entrapped between the gate and the mattress.

Incidents/Injuries: None reported.

Description: These are Isabella model cribs with model number 326-94C1=20
or 326-94C2. The model number appears on the bar code label. The=20
Isabella cribs are distributed through Stanley Funiture=92s Young America=
=20
line. They are made of wood and painted white.

Sold at: Department and furniture stores nationwide from November 2003=20
through February 2004 for about $980.

Manufactured in: U.S.A.

Remedy: Consumers should contact the store where the crib was purchased=20
to schedule a free, in-home crib inspection and repair, if needed. These =

stores also will attempt to contact consumers.
