Inexpensive Holiday Fun
Want to have the kids give of themselves in a fun and inexpensive way
this year? Plan a night of cookie baking and card making for your kids and some of their friends! My son and I love baking so we have started a tradition. Every Christmas season, we have a cookie baking/card making party! He invites some friends over to bake cookies for our local firefighters, police officers, and hospital workers. They also make holiday cards to give to friends and family. The boys have tons of fun and I keep it inepxspensive by asking that the guests bring their favorite frosting and cookie decorations. I provide the dough, hot choclate, and the craft supplies. The kids have fun eating the dough, "accidentally" breaking the cookies so they can eat them, and the recipients of the treats are so grateful! The kids love giving back and saying thank you to the community workers. This teaches them about the true meaning of the holidays--love for others and unconditional giving. What a great gifts to give to our kids! |
