STUCK ON YOU

RATING (0 TO ****): **

With a single good movie (THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY) to their name, The
Farrelly Brothers are back with STUCK ON YOU, a miserable comedy much like
their many other disappointments (SHALLOW HAL, OSMOSIS JONES and ME, MYSELF
& IRENE). Given how lame most -- albeit, thankfully not quite all -- of
this year's holiday movies have been, STUCK ON YOU should fit right in.

Starring Matt Damon and Greg Kinnear as brothers Bob and Walt, two guys who
are stuck on each other since they are conjoined twins, the movie is a
non-stop series of sight gags and jokes about "freaks." Bob is shy and
awkward whereas Walt is a ladies man and an overconfident actor. Most of
the story occurs after these two short order cooks move from Martha's
Vineyard to Hollywood so that Walt can advance his acting career.

The story's on-going joke is that the brothers try to hide their condition
to others. Even after a few dates with Bob, May (Wen Yann Shih) doesn't
realize that the reason his brother hangs around so much is that they're
stuck together. The two brothers have to pull up their shirts to show her
that they are joined at the waistline.

I didn't laugh once although I did smile a couple times. One smile came
from seeing Cher in bed with an under-aged boy -- perhaps because it was in
such bad taste after the recent Michael Jackson arrest. Another came when
Bob and Walt go skipping off singing, "We're Off To See The Wizard." That
was the extent of my enjoyment of this mediocre movie.

STUCK ON YOU runs 2:00. It is rated PG-13 for "crude and sexual humor, and
some language" and would be acceptable for kids around 12 and up.

The film opens nationwide in the United States on Friday, December 12, 2003.
In the Silicon Valley, it will be showing at the AMC theaters, the Century
theaters and the Camera Cinemas.
