Default wood heat

We just bought a house (yeah) and are moving next weekend. We have an
oil heater AND a woodstove. My mom mentioned that wood heat is bad for
our little 'uns. Well us too. I have a 2.5 yo and a baby on the way in
September. What do you all know about smoke from wood heat?

It's quite polluting to the outside world when lots of folks are burning wood
(we frequently have burn bans in Seattle when the smog is bad already), but if
you have it well vented your personal indoor air quality shouldn't suffer. Ask
the guy who does the house inspection, and maybe call a chimney sweep or
something.

I'd worry more about keeping the kids away from it, but I'm sure there is a way
to do that.
