Larry has some good ideas and I am sure he'll jump in. But what worked for
me was to stick my finger in the side of the mouth (where there's no teeth!)
to break her grip and say no (even if she doesn't understand, she will get
the message). Others say to just stop the nursing session and put baby
down, but I could never bear to do that cos she would cry so hard.
That's what I did -- both breaking the grip, and setting him down. We
both cried when I put him down, but it took only three or four times
and he got the idea with no nursing strikes or, as far as I can tell
so far, psychological damage to either of us.
