Default California Child Support

I don't think that the state would get Sam to pay directly to John,
however, I have seen in many posts where the income shares model is
used that child support received by a CP is used as income to her.
Therefore, technically, because she has that 700USD in support, she
would have to turn 600USD of it to John. Leaving her child with
100USD...Not sure what states this can be done in, but I have read it a
few times...

Hello again all,

I have a question. "Sam" pays $700 a month in child support to "Betty". Betty pays her second husband "John" $600 a
month for another child she had with him. Betty quits work or doesn't pay her support to John. I believe John can
get the state (California) to take $600 our of the support Sam pays Betty and have it go to him. Does anyone have
any experience in this??

I know this scenario is hard to believe but I know someone that will be in this situation very shortly. Can John
collect support (thru the county) from Sam and skip good 'ole Betty?

No. Sam is not responsible for Betty and John's child.

Thanks in advance.

I know that, but the income from Sam to Betty is income for Betty. I think they can take that and give it to John. I
even believe the state gets double to bonus for "collecting" child support twice.

No. The state will not collect from Sam to pay Betty's child support.
There's no court order mandating that Sam pay Betty's child support.
There's no judge that *would* order Sam to pay Betty's child support (as far as I'm aware).

Ain't gonna happen.
