Liberal should mean that you understand others, not belittle them for their
conservative thoughts

Actually I consider myself a liberal in the classic sense of the word, but I
think there is enough intolerance to go around, learning how to debate an idea,
attacking an idea, not a person (or their profession), is something many people
seem to have a problem with, regardless of their label.
