I've never seen or heard of Briony before, but I would pronounce it
bree-OH-nee unless told otherwise!

Bryony is the more typical spelling and it's actually a botanical name
(bryony is a type of flowering vine, rather like holly, I think). I have
always heard it pronounced with a long "i" in the first syllable and short
"o" in the second with the accent on the first syllable: BRI-o-nee. I
actually think it's a lovely name, but I could never use it since it ends in
an -ee sound and would therefore rhyme with our last name (ick).

Be well, Barbara
Mom to Sin (Vernon, 2), Misery (Aurora, 4), and the Rising Son (Julian, 6)

Aurora (in the bathroom with her dad)--"It looks like an elephant, Daddy."
Me (later)--"You should feel flattered."
