I have a 2.5 yrs old son who has a bad habbit of hitting anyone. He
has hit the kids and babies with anything that he has in his hands.
Due to this most of the kids don't want to play with him and we have
got into BAd situation.
We have tried to explain to him not to hit others but he never
follows.
This habbit is now uncontrolable as he can hit anyone at anytime with
anythings in his hands.

I would appreciate if any of you could let me know to amend this
behaviour of his.

Thanks

Responding after the fact isn't as effective as prevention. Stay VERY
close to him, and move to get between him and the object of his ire,
then pick him up and move him away.

If he DOES manage to hit someone, pick him up immediately and move him
away, then pay lots of attention to the injured child.

Saying "don't hit" isn't as effective as teaching him what he IS to do
when he's frustrated: we use our words, or come and tell mommie, or
whatever is appropriate. Saying "don't hit" isn't as effective as
telling him the proper way to touch people.

Remember, his behavior is common for his age, and logical explanations
are not remarkably effective: moving quickly to modify the behavior,
rather than expecting him to "think" about what he is doing, is more
effective.
