Measles Outbreak among Vaccinated High School Students -- Illinois
From December 9, 1983, to January 13, 1984, 21 cases of measles occurred
in Sangamon County, Illinois

1983 and 1984? I was in college back then. It is well known that there was a
problem with the measles vaccine because it did not always work as well as
expected. You will be happy to know that this sort of outbreak is rare in
the US, thanks to measles vaccine.

Thanks for reminding us what would happen if there were not any measles
vaccine and about the thousands of lives saved each year because of the
vaccine.
