Default once you start feeding start feeding solids, do you have to be consistant?

Emily is just past 6 months, and really enjoys her rice cereal mixed with
bm. I have been feeding it about twice a day, but sometimes only once a
day and not always at the same time. Since she is still being fed bm, I
was wondering how critical it was once solids were introduced, to keep it
up and be regular about it?

Thanks!
Betsy

I would say as long as she's gaining weight and seems happy, go with the
flow. She will definitely let you know if she is unhappy with feedings of
any sort, either bm or solids. DD is 10 months old, and even to this day,
there's times where she wants to eat, and other times when she just doesn't
want to eat food and wants milk only. Our meal schedule as a family is
fairly hectic as it is, as breakfast is usually around 7 for DS (as he is
off on the bus at 730) and DD eats breakfast around 8, sometimes 7,
sometimes 9. Sometimes she wants cereal mixed with her fruit, sometimes she
won't eat a spoon of food and she seems happy with milk. Lunch is sometimes
around 1230-1ish, as DS is home from school around 1230, sometimes DD eats
around noon before he gets home, sometimes she has lunch around 1ish when we
eat. Supper ranges from 5pm to as late as 7pm (late suppers come with some
sort of small snack around 3ish) as we all have supper together when DH is
home - I am NOT one to make 2 suppers and clean up after 2 suppers, so we
just all eat together. Normally whatever happens, DD eats between 430 and
530.
She doesn't seem to complain. She's gaining weight (was 20lbs 9oz
yesterday) so she's doing fine and there's no concerns about how and what
she eats.
So yea, I definitely say go with the flow and what seems to work for you and
Emily. She'll let you know if she's happy or not, and it sounds like what
you're doing is just fine.
