39w1d decrease in fundal height
Well my experience was limited to my LMC midwife (useless bitch she was so
she was probably lazy) and I was also under the care of a specialist at
Waikato Hospital. She was the one that told me that they NZ hospitals don't
do it as routine because there are so many variables to take into account,
weight gain, babies position etc.

My girls :
DD1 Jasmine - 5 weeks early - 21 March 02 -
Still as small as a peanut but as smart as a whip!
DD2 Abby - 8 weeks early - 3 Feb 05 -
I am very polite and say "Ank Ooooooo" whenever I'm given something.
"Yes you can drive me insane just by talking to me!"

They don't even measure fundal height here in NZ routinely anymore. But
from what I have read on these and other groups, when babies head drops
down into the pelvis your fundal height drops with it. So it may well be
that your baby has engaged between 38 week and now.
Really? I had it measured every time I visited my midwife here in NZ from
about 20 weeks onwards.
