Default A License to Kill? Part 1: How A Public-Private Partnership Made the Government Merck's Gardasil Partner By Mark Blaxill

Out of 11,778 Gardasil recipients, over 90% of them young women between the
ages of 9 and 23, one would expect an annual death rate to be a mix of the
rates for the two reference groups, or less than 4 per 10,000 in an entire
year. But in the trials, there were three “sudden deaths”, i.e. deaths that
occurred within just the two weeks of the Gardasil injections, in a review
period of less than forty-five days. That’s a death rate close to ten times
higher than would be expected such a short period. And the overall Gardasil
death rate of 8.5 per 10,000 (10 deaths out of 11,778) for the 12 month
period of the trial is more than twice what one would expect.
