DD doesn't like change, and will strongly resist.

A followup to my own post. She was strongly resisting moving to the
pre-team when we talked about it last week. We finally talked about it
again today, and she's excited about trying it. She still doesn't know
if she will like it, but she's going to give it a try.

I feel much better now :-).

I still wish there was a better option, but at least I know what we do
next.
