you dn't get shingles without having had chickenpox - you can however
catch chicken pox from someone with shingles
and anyone with a herpes skin disorder who allows it to come in contact
with an infant is grossly irresponsible -- they are risking giving an
infant a lifelong venereal disease through carelessness [assuming it is
Herpex and not the shingles form thereof which appeared to be the case
in the OP's note
