Default No more LAM, thoughts on IUD

I vote Mirena (and I'm getting mine in a week or so). I don't think any IUD
will cause periods if you wouldn't have had them anyway, but the copper IUDs
cause periods to be heavier and more painful than they would otherwise have
been.

I think the copper-T could cause spotting regardless, but it certainly will not
do anything to start a real period. For what it's worth I have no extra pain
from mine. I did have quite long periods (not more painful) the first couple of
times after insertion, but they settled down. Now the only thing different is
that I get a bit of warning spotting the day before it hits full-force, which
is actually kind of handy.

Oh, and I had cramps for a day or two after it was inserted, but NOT AT ALL
severe ones. I took a little ibuprofen, that was all.
