Sorry to hear you had a rough ride.

I think next time I will stick with an OB and have a doula, instead of a
nurse-midwife.

At least you're thinking about "next time"! Much as I loved #1 I couldn't
visualise putting myself through labour again for about 6 months.
However #2 was a much easier time.
