Default 9 moths old: three cysts associated with posterior wall of stomach since birth

My son is 9 months right now,
he has three cysts in splenic/close to stomach area since birth, which
doctors have been monitoring every few months to ensure they are not
growing and will not affect him adversly. he has had MRI at birth,
couple of ultrasound and a CT scan recently.

Otherwise our son has been growing well, without any issues, he reacts
well, eats well, etc.

with recent diagnosis one of the largest cyst have increased in size,
and ped. surgery doctor is recommending a laproscopy to remove the
cysts, and during laproscopy they may have to do full incision surgey,
dependning on the condition..

all this is very new to us and are scared of getting the surgery on an
infant, and dont know who else to talk to... we needed some advise from
other people around who has had similar experience or know more on this
situation, who can share any piece of advice or just their experience,
also if anyone can suggest good pediatic surgeons in bay area to get
second opinion.. that will be very helpful...

more technical details:
In first and second ultrasound it was detected to be prespelnic
location, then with latest ultrasound at 7 months doctors thought it
could be attached to stomach wall, so we got a CT scan done few weeks
ago.

CT Scan diagnosis is

largest cyst(now 2,4x2.0x1.8cm) indents gastric wall and inseparable
from the wall.
middle cyst is 7.5x7.0mm and most lateral cyst 8.5x8.2 mm
all cysts are separate from spleen. every thing else is normal and no
abnormalities.

size of largest cyst has increased between two months (since last
ultrasound)
it was (1.4x1.7)
middle one was 5x 6mm
most lateral cyst was 19x10mm (so this has decreased in size)

I would definitely get a second opinion on this.

Both the Lucille Packard Hospital at Stanford and the UCSF at Moffitt/Long
Hospitals have pediatric surgeons.

You can google them with "pediatric surgeons bay area" to find their contact
info.

I don't know any of the surgeons, but UCSF and Stanford have outstanding
reputations as pediatric centers.

Your news host seems to be in San Diego. UCLA and USC both have excellent
medical centers which should also have good pediatric surgeons.
