Default POLL: Do you trim your pubes?

Talking to my girlfriends I found out that they all do something with
their pubes. Some go a little father than others. For instance, I
shave my labia but leave a little patch of hair right on top. Most do
at least a bikini wax, but a few go the whole way and shave everything
off. One complaint was that we all have a hard time getting our
husbands to tame their bushes. Mine only allows me to shave his
balls, but he won't let me go near the rest. And that's after I had
to negotiate with him forever. He says only gay guys shave their
pubes. That seems to be a pretty common belief among guys, all my
girlfriends reported their husbands or SOs said the same thing. So
what do you all do with your pubes?

Do trolls even have pubes? I didn't even think they had genitals.

loser.

LOL....I dunno, they procreate awfully quickly. I always thought their
reproduction was asexual, that they divided and multiplied like amoebas.

You can do what you want, what you should do is a different case altogether.

You shouldn't smoke obviously but as a recent quitter I have sympathy...

It seems logical to me that nicotine will be in your system if you're
smoking regardless of when you last smoked (unless that was more than 3
weeks ago) so if you breastfeed you're passing nicotine on to your baby
and all that entails. this means your baby could crave nicotine the same
way you do and have the same grumpy crankiness if deprived of it. Do you
want a cranky baby and a cranky mummy?

Believe me I know it is difficult to quit, I smoked a pack a day for
almost 20 years, but it's not impossible and a baby is one of the best
reasons in the world to quit.

There are always excuses for smoking but no reasons is my motto.

Best of luck to you, try quitnet.com I found it helpful, I also read
Allen Carr's Easy Way to Stop Smoking, but the best thing was someone
who said to me visualise your baby with a ciggie in it's mouth every
time you want a smoke, it worked for me, hope it helps you.

Cigarette smoke is harmful to babies so ideally smoking by anyone should be
banned in the house. Certainly not in the same room as the baby at the very
least.

Dave

Agreed, but I think she's wondering more about the presence of
nicotine in the breastmilk. We know it crosses the placenta, but I
don't know how much would be present in breastmilk.
Not to mention the fact that cigarettes contain so many other
chemicals than just nicotine, it would be hard to find data on all the
harmful components, I'm guessing.
My vote is with quitting, and I'm a former smoker so I know how tough
it can be.

If you are pregnant you shouldn't be smoking anyway.
There are too many harmful effects to smoking for a
baby, before and after its birth.

I know someone who smoked while bf'ing. I smoked before I got
pregnant. I always quit while I was pregnant and bf'ing. I know that
it is hard, but it really is best for the baby.

When I worked at a movie theater I used to put pubes in people's drinks.

It
was hilarious to watch someone sipping their drink and then suddenly start
choking when they sucked up a pube through the straw.

See, now I always ordered mine with extra pubes.

This article does seem very good. The basic answer to the OP's question, as
I see it, is in this quote from Jack Newman: "The risks of not breastfeeding
are greater to the baby than the risks of breastfeeding and smoking. The
decision is up to the mother and I would encourage her to breastfeed."

What I get from this is that if the mother can't quit, she should breastfeed
and not smoke near the baby.
