I'm roughly 7 weeks at the moment, but have experienced nasal congestion at
night .... as well as some slight bleeding in one nostril (in the sinus part
and not the actual nostril). I am not prone to nose bleeds, and my BP was
fine when it was last checked.
I have been using saline drops for the congestion - works perfectly - but
the bleeding has me a little concerned.
Any ideas?
Amanda

IIRC, nosebleeds are quite common during pregnancy. I think it has something
to do with the extra volume of blood. I know I had a few and I never get
them normally. HTH

I was prone to a lot of nosebleed when pregnant with DS. The pregnancy
hormones do something to your veins or blood that makes it easier to
bleed. For the same reason you can suddenly have bleeding gums every time
you brush your teeth. As long as it is minor things, there is no reason to
worry about it. Keeping your nose moist is the best you can do.

I never have nosebleeds normally. However, I have had a real problem
with blood in my nose. It has yet to run out, but when I blow my
nose, I can see the blood.

Nothing to worry about, really. It is quite normal. However, if you
are concerned, you should talk to your doctor or midwife.

If you blow your nose and you see blood, it can also be a sign of
infection. If there are any other symptoms, then a trip to your doctor
might be a good idea.

I've read that vaseline will help with mild nosebleeds by keeping the
skin moist. I haven't used it for that purpose, but I have used it to
help stop my nose from dripping all night long (it really does seem to
help with that).

I have never had nosebleeds in my LIFE until this pregnancy! I had one at
the Vet's office once, when dropping off my dog. Wouldn't you know it, now
I'm known there as "Nose-Bleed Lady." LOL
