Hi Jill- I'm in the same boat as you, in fact the same age! I'm about
6.5 weeks along and had my second visit with dr. today. We got to see
the heart beat! I had a little scare last week when I spotted and went
to the dr. to make sure all is well. I know spotting happens a lot but
I wanted to be sure everything was okay, which it is.

I also like you just went off the bcp and bam I was pregnant. So much
for mentally preparing.

I'm feeling pretty good overall, no naseau, just a lot of bowel
movements. Biggest change is the fullnes in the chest area! Ha ha. I
also had an anxiety attack like you mentioned. Not about the baby, but
in a social situation where I would normally be outgoing and very
comfortable. I just wanted to leave, it was a very strange feeling.
None since then.

Anyhow, I'm taking things slow and trying not to worry. If you need
someone to share things with, I'd be happy to share. I'm a first time
mom and am adopted so I don't have a "mom" besides my step-mom to talk
to about things. This newsgroup has provided a lot of great

Hi Jill! I am new here too and it sounds like you and I are right
along the same time schedule! My husband and I decided last month to
start trying and I stopped my BCP's. Last week I wasn't feeling too
well and decided on Sunday to take a test. The first was positive so I
took four more, just to be sure ;o) I was five weeks on 9/16.

My doctor requires that you take a blood pregnancy test in order to
schedule your first appointment. I told the appointment scheduler that
I had five test sticks at home that I could bring in if she need proof
)

I too am nervous. I find myself worrying about if my body can do this.
I have been feeling very crampy (no spotting) and very uncomfortable.
I am very bloated and have already had to make round one of new
clothes shopping.

My husband has been a dream this week and has made my fears much
easier to bear. Especially when I wake up in the middle of the night
with a weird feeling and pull out my pregnancy books to make sure it
is normal )
