Default midwife appointment

Hi

Just got back from midwife appointment, she took my bloods and also did my
blood pressure. My blood pressure is low 90/50 and I'm now wondering what
that means and is there any complications for the baby because of it. I
asked the midwife what needs to be done about it and she said nothing we'll
check it in 4 weeks time.

On the upper side of things I asked my midwife if we could hear babys heart
beat and she said well it's a bit early but I presueded her to at least try
as I am 13 weeks plus although she's got me 12 weeks plus but i'm sticking
with my 13 weeks plus as I only have 24 day periods and they go with a 28
day period. Anyway we did manage to hear babys heart beating and he/she
sounds very healthy in there. Can't wait to meet him/her on tv tommorow lol.

90/50 means you have absolutely nothing to worry about there.

I'm glad your appointment went so well. My blood pressure tends to be
on the low side too. My midwives love it.

low blood pressure carries none of the risks that high blood pressure
does, medically low blood pressure is a problem when it's an indication
that you're losing blood somewhere, which you're not, so no worries
there. The same blood pressure shortly after giving birth if you'd had a
higher blood pressure before would be a flag to watch the blood loss. If
you have any dizzy spells, that potentially could be related, you can
help keep your blood pressure in a normal range for you by making sure
you are drinking enough.

Cheers

Did you quit smoking yet? Or is the health of your unborn less important
than the need to satisfy your selfish craving for nicotine?

Oh please. Women were drinking and smoking while pregnant and the
population still grew.

Please ignore this person, April.
We know how much you've gone through for Joanna and know you're a great mum.
