Default No weight from 13-17 months

I finally got a chance to measure and weigh DD a few days ago. I knew
she was small, but she hasn't gained in weight or height at all since
August, at 13 months. She's 17 months now.

At that time she was in the 95th% for height and 50th% for weight,
which is where she'd been all year. Now, at 17 months she's at 10th%
for height and dropped off the charts for weight. I know growth slows,
but surely not like this? At her 15 month appt the doctor noted she
was small, but didn't seem too concerned, altho he wasn't our regular
doc and may not have noticed the difference to where she'd been.

She does have some developmental delays posted elsewhere, but she's
otherwise quite healthy. She doesn't act like a malnourished kid -
until she got the croup over Thanksgiving she ate everything - the
nurtionist even made a big fuss about how great our menu was. She's
not lethargic or unusually cranky. Her cognitive ability is way above
normal. Since she was sick she lost her appetite and only nursed, and
we've been trying to get back to normal there, but that hasn't been
enough to have an effect. She just never gained or grew. She also
doesn't sleep great still. She did start STTN about 14/15 months,
altho that's been lousy lately due to the illness.

We see the developmental specialist in January, but until then I was
hoping for some thoughts/comments from other parents.

FWIW - she still nurses at night and in the am (and lately more
often), however I stopped pumping at 13 months when she started
refusing bottles. She also refused cow's milk, but got her protein and
calcium from other sources and the nurtionist was fine with that.

I suppose you know for sure that she didn't get taller,
but do you know for sure that she didn't gain any weight? Could
she have gained, and then lost with the illness?

Bottom line is I think you'll need more data points before
you'll really know. This could be just a little blip, which isn't
at all unusual. I doubt you'll know if it's more until you have
more data points to look at.

Best wishes,
Ericka

I do think she lost weight with the illnss, as her pants are now
slipping off her, but I don't think she lost *that* much, no more than
a few ounces at most.
