Default Anatomy Scan Update

Thanks to everyone for their well wishes, support and experiences in the
Potentially Bad News and Irritable Uterus threads!

Overall the appointment went great! The twins are growing perfectly. Baby A
weighs 13oz and is in the 53rd precentile. He has all his limbs, 4 chamber
heart, fluid looks fine, just overall a good assesment! Basically the same
with Baby B. He(?) weighs 13oz as well and is in the 56th precentile.

The tech said she is certain that Baby B is a boy, but I still wonder! I
then saw my midwife. She was very happy with the results of the ultrasound
(she was there for part of it) and my cervical length is still measuring
just under 4cm. She told me to keep taking the Nifedipine, as it seems to be
doing the job (honestly, I think she has a different opinion than my OB on
my condition and seeing her was a breath of fresh air.) She said the
contractions were NOT Braxton Hicks, but as long as we can keep them at bay,
we should be fine. She is scheduling me for an appointment in St Louis (I
think to see a perinatologist) and it will most likely be at St Mary's.

What great news!!! Glad your midwife helped you feel more at ease. It
sounds like things are going as well as they can right now.

More than welcome! I'm glad you are keeping us up to date and everything
is going so well again. I still cannot get over the fact you were told to
just accept the fact this was preterm labour, what do these people think?
The more I think about it, the angrier it makes me, these are the people
we depend on to know better, for crying out loud!

I hope things keep heading the right way and the babies stay where they
are for at least another 15 weeks or so.

It's good to hear that your appointment went well!

Do you live near St. Louis? Just curious. My OB's office is about 2
blocks from St. Mary's, but that's not where I'm planning to deliver
(Missouri Baptist, in case anyone knows St. Louis hospitals at all).
St. Mary's is a bit farther of a drive for us, especially during rush
hour, when highway 40 can be a mess.

Anyway, good luck with your perinatologist appointment

What great news - thanks for keeping us updated. I've been thinking about
you and the twins *a lot* lately, so I'm so glad things are looking so good.
