Caseworker Didn't Notify Police Children Were Missing
Caseworker Didn't Notify Police Children Were Missing
POSTED: 7:11 am EST March 16, 2005 TAMPA, Fla. -- A Hillsborough County child protection worker didn't notify police or the state that two foster children he had been assigned to monitor were missing. A 4-month-old baby boy had been murdered in Alabama before social workers located him. The child's parents and grandfather are charged. Caseworker Cary Felton unsuccessfully tried for three weeks to get in touch with the baby and an older sibling. A report by the Department of Children and Families criticizes Felton for failing to alert authorities about the missing boys. The St. Petersburg Times obtained paperwork relating to the death of Phoenix Parrish on a public records request. Two privately employed caseworkers workers have been fired over their handling of the children's disappearance. http://www.news4jax.com/news/4289328/detail.html "Meddle not in the affairs of Dragons, For you are crunchy and taste good with catsup." |
