Prior to that is weigh in, and that's when you get your weekly
materials as well. You don't even have to go to the meetings and I
mostly don't because I don't have anyone to keep William. It's the
having to weigh each week that keeps me on track.

You can't bring the sprog? That counts me out.

Depends on the leader, I suspect. Kids have been welcome at both
meetings I have attended.

Started two weeks ago, already 6lbs down!

I often bring my baby with me. I've loved WW both times (this time and
before I was pg) because it makes sense and is a lifestyle change. It's a
great way to lose and keep off weight.

Congrats on joining! I've been eating 30 points since I started nursing and,
even though DD is now eating solids too, I'm still losing. Perhaps I'll drop
a few points each day, though, to lose a bit faster.

There's no Mommy and me meetings at your meeting place? Here it's Wed
mornings.

Nope, nothing like that here. There may be something like that in another
location in town, but my meeting is within walking distance of my house, so I
don't want to go elsewhere! It's a nice idea, though.

Hi,

I just joined Weight Watchers last week, and I was wondering how you

dealt
with the nursing mothers instructions. They say that nursing mothers

can
add 10 points to their daily point total. But, if the baby is not
exclusively breastfed, then you don't get any points. geesh. I know

that
there's a few of you out there on WW and I was wondering what you did?

So far, I've given myself 5 points a day. We'll see how it goes, I
weigh-in tonight. I have a 3 year old, who still nurses 3 times or more

a
day, and a 10 month old, who nurses I don't know how many times a day,

plus
at least 2 times at night. But, he does eat solids, esp the ones he can

find
crawling on the floor (lol)

here in australia, we have just started a new program & it says the
following for breastfeeding:
when the baby has breastmilk only - 32 points total
breastmilk + some solids - 30 points
breastmilk + increased solids - 28 points
breastmilk + regular meals - 26 points

but DS is 17 mths & breastfeeds 4+ times a day with lots of solids & it
seems 26 points is too little for me.
and also if your toddler is actually feeding, not comfort sucking, then it
would be more like feeding twins & it says that you would need more than
26-32 points.

You've all convinced me!
As soon as the next little possum arrives, I'm IN! A good friend of mine
lost her pg weight using WW and she is the last person I imagine would need
help to lose weight - a Physical Education teacher who also used to be my
aerobics instructor before having her boys, and who is really really fit.
She reckoned that it gave her the willpower to lose the extra weight.
I lost all the pg weight last time plus a few extra kgs purely through bf.
This time, I want to maximise the effect and lose the stubborn 15 kg (33
lbs) that have crept on since I married a man who can eat whatever he wants
whenever he wants and still remain slim and trim ;P

Ten extra points while exclusively BF; then, theoretically, drop 2 points
per session if you go below 5 sessions/day (so 8 extra points for 4
nursing sessions, etc).

I'll second it. I'm a lifetime member. I lost about 60 lbs doing WW's
nursing moms program, and have kept it off for about a year!

Wow, that's really great.

I'll do it. There's a meeting within walking distance on Wednesday
morning.

There. Now I have to go.

Huh? I brought my nursling til she was almost a year old. No one said boo.
There were several toddlers in the class as well. It is not a problem.

As I've ranted elsewhere, "Mommy and Me" *anything* tends to be in the
middle of the day on a weekday, which counts me out...

As long as the kids
behaved,
no one cared...

I may give it a shot...maybe they'll have suggestions on dealing with my
insatiable, endless, bottomless appetite...
