Default cooking for a pregnant friend

I'm cooking dinner for a 7 months pregnant friend this weekend. Has
anyone got any good menu suggestions, particularly for desserts as I
know she won't be able to have cheesecake (soft cheese) or egg based
puddings

Many thanks
Alee

She can have both of those -- you cook them, right? And the cream cheese is
pastuerized?

Acidic meals are hard at that point because of heartburn; for example,
anything with marinara.

She can have soft cheese, as long as it is made from pasteurized
milk. Egg based puddings are fine too, when the pudding is cooked.
However, beaten egg-white is not good, it is usually too raw. Also
be careful with raw or partially raw meats and fish, but besides
that, you can cook whatever you normally do.

You are very thoughtful to ask, but no cheesecake! Girl, bring it on. The
cheeses used in cheesecake are pasturized therefore, NOT a no-no!

As for what foods to cook, you should really check with her. Some people
have major aversions/heartburn causing foods, others don't. It's pretty much
an individual thing.

Thanks for your comments - I settled on a baked chocolate pudding...
hopefully that will do the trick!
