Default new KY breastfeeding law

Breast-Feeding in Public Completely Legal Beginning Today
Do you think it's indecent exposure for a nursing mother to breast feed her
child in public?

As of July 12, it's legal in Kentucky.

Like a lot of new mothers, Bridget Rumer has important reasons for choosing
to breast feed her newborn, and if that makes someone else uncomfortable,
"they don't have to look. They don't have to watch," she says. "And
there's ways to be discreet about it."

Morgan Reck of Lexington disagrees. "I think you should do it in the
privacy of your own home. It's disgusting."

It's never been illegal to nurse a child publicly, but Kentucky lawmakers in
March passed a law clearly stating three things.

1) Breast feeding in public is not indecent exposure.

2) Municipalities cannot restrict a mother's right to breast feed.

3) Other people are not to interfere if a woman is breast feeding in a place
she and her baby are allowed to be.

Although it's sad that we need these laws to protect ourselves in the first
place, I'm very happy for all nursing mothers in KY.

We just got a law here in Tennessee as well--but it only applies to
babies under the age of one!

that is silly and shows some discrimination in the eyes of the law makers,
Scotland has a very equal non discriminating law, that you are allowed to
breast of bottle feed a baby up to age 2 anywhere you are allowed to be.
Would stop my friend being chucked out of the library for giving bottles to
her twins whilst she browsed with her older daughter! She was actually
hoping that another women there would breastfeed and that they wouldn't say
anything so that she could say they were discriminating against bottle
feeders!
