If you didn't think NCP's were second class citizens before, youwill now...

From the NCP Revue (http://www.pueblonative.com/blog) You always knew non custodial parents were considered second class citizens, but this proves it. I’m of two minds of this. Even though I would love to see some hypocrite politician get what is coming to them, this is ripe for abuse. Any judge who disliked a politician (perhaps His Honor didn’t get a raise that he wanted) could easily get that pol kicked out of office by jacking up the payments so high that they could never afford it. And another qutote: "An elected official can be removed from office if that person is convicted of a felony, violating certain federal laws and even for being under the influence of alcohol, which is considered ‘voluntary intoxication,’" Dvorak said. "Elected officials must be held accountable for failing to support their children." First off, I didn’t even know lobbyists were commonly slipping mickeys into people’s drinks. Isn’t D.C. Stephenson dead? However, all of those things mention carry a big difference from the child support ban. First off, each of those mentioned crimes requires a "conviction", which requires due process and a presumption of innocence until found otherwise. Being behind in Child Support, on the other hand, does not. It merely requires somebody to have one bad paycheck. So nice one, Indiana. Why don’ t you stop beating around the bush and send all the non custodial parents to concentration camps? It’s be a lot easier that way. |
