diseases".

Oh, dear. I'll have to rag on my cow-orkers who are life-long vegans
for falling off the wagon, since they have the maladies you tell me
are impossible for them.

I'm rather glad to have inherited the gray-hair part of the family
resemblance. The ancestors who didn't turn gray early also died
relatively young, but then again they were also the ones who didn't
eat much meat and so forth. Which reminds me that I've been remiss
and have been getting too many veggies lately.

The fry-everything-in-lard, out-every-fall hunters have an annoying
tendency to die in their 90s as a result of being thrown by a horse
while riding away from enraged husbands and fathers. Then again,
they were also the ones who turned gray in their 30s. Apparently
it made them look "distinguished."

Oh, well -- their widows were consoled by the boy-toys they took
up after a reasonable period of mourning.
