Travelling by air with a Kelty Kid Carrier and Yellowstone questions
Do you need the portacrib? It might be a good opportunity to try the
two year old sleeping on a pallet (sp?) or in a sleeping bag. Of course the main concern there might be bugs in the cabin. You could locate a second hand store to pick up a portacrib too--then take it back to them. I have always worn my back-pack carrier in the airport, but my kids were a little bit younger when I did it. As someone else mentioned, the cosmetic issue is the main concern. As far as safety goes, you should tie the support leg closed and tape down the waist straps and any other straps so that they don't get caught in any conveyers. If you have an old pillow case, that may work as a good cover for it. Make sure there is a luggage tag on it. Karen |

Of course the main concern there might be bugs in the cabin. I don't think the "cabins" are really cabins. They are just really basic motel rooms attached in groups of 4 or 8 or something, from what I can tell. Our backup plan is to bunch up a bedspread or something on the floor and let him sleep on that. If he balks, we can put him to sleep in our bed and then move him. I suppose we could bring the thin vinyl-covered-foam mattress that we have him sleep on when we go camping. I have always worn my back-pack carrier in the airport, but my kids were a little bit younger when I did it. I think we will both have other things on our backs in the airport, which is why I want to try to check it. Thanks for the thoughts, --Robyn |
