Default Car seat recall

DJG Alpha Omega Harness Adjustment Strap Public Notice/Recall

Dorel Juvenile Group USA announces a voluntary recall involving Cosco® Alpha
Omega®, Cosco Alpha Omega Elite®, Eddie Bauer® 3-in-1 car seats, Eddie
Bauer® 3 in 1 Deluxe and Safety 1st® Alpha Omega Elite car seats.

A Strap Replacement Kit to be provided to All Owners

Please refer to the chart below to see if your model may be affected. (see
link for chart)

Manufacture date codes between 11/1/2003 - 12/31/2005

Monitoring of consumer contact and subsequent evaluations of the restraints
enabled DJG to determine under certain conditions, the harness adjustment
strap may slip within the metal adjustment mechanism that controls the
tightness of the shoulder harness. This may allow the harness securing the
child in the restraint system to loosen.

While the occurrence of the harness loosening is extremely rare, if it were
to occur in the event of a crash the child may move forward more than if the
slippage did not occur. This may increase the risk of injury. No injuries
have been reported as a result of the slippage.

Dorel Juvenile Group will provide consumers with a kit enabling them to fix
the problem by simply replacing the adjuster strap. The kit containing the
replacement strap and illustrated instructions is available for
distribution. All owners of these restraints who returned a registration
card should receive a notification regarding this recall. The affected seats
should not be returned to the retailer.

If you have not registered your car seat but have one of the models named
above, please visit www.djgusa.com and follow the links provided to see if
your car seat is affected by the recall. Or call the toll free hotline at
1.800.219.0509 for US consumers or 1.800.219.0540 for Canadian consumers.
