starting a bedtime ritual?
Hi
I'm wondering how to start my 8 month old baby on a night-time ritual? We don't get home from work after picking baby up until 6 pm or just after. Typically, when we get home, one parent walks the dog while the other parent makes a bottle for baby. And, then our baby falls asleep somewhere between 6:30-7:30 pm. During this one hour (at most), he drinks his bottle and maybe has a bit a play time. Then he starts to fuss a bit, so I pick him up and rock him to sleep. I'm worried that I haven't started him on a ritual of bed time reading, bathing, etc...nor does he get put in his crib awake. Hmmmm....I sure do wish I could get home earlier in the evening. After baby goes to bed, then my husband & I have dinner. Any suggestions on how to incorporate night time rituals? |
