storing breastmilk
Hi. I pumped some breastmilk before, and want to keep it in the fridge
and add more milk to it in the morning and then freeze it. I was just wondering, I just put it in Avent breastmilk freezer bags, and put it in the Avent Bottle holder and in the fridge. I didnīt take the air out, that is just for freezing isnīt it. I just put the lid on it. Is this an ok way to store the breastmilk? Then Iīm going to add more to it in the morning and then use the bags to freeze in. How does this sound, ok? Eva Huld. |

storing breastmilk
I dont think you should be adding breast milk to milk that is already in the
fridge. I think if you want to freeze it you should do so soon after pumping it. When I pumped (long time ago it seems) I just put the milk in the freezer bags and that was it. No bottle holder or nothing. I dont know if its okay to store milk like that. -- Laura, TTC #2 Mommy to Izabella **Feb 10th, 2003** And 2 felines *Ashes(3) & George (5)* http://www.babiesonline.com/babies/i/izabellawelburn/ "Eva Huld Valsdottir" wrote in message om... You'll want to cool the new milk you pump before adding it to the milk currently in your fridge. And you need to date the milk with the date of the oldest milk so you know when it is no longer good to use. I used to store my milk in the Gerber zip lock storage bags in 2-5 ounce portions.
