Default How to teach kids to use guns?

I'm a gun-fanatic and have a collection of over 100 guns from all over
the world.

I like shooting and hunting animals with my various guns and rifles and
I want to teach my kids to use guns as soon as possible.

Do you think that 3 and 4 year old kids are old enough to learn
shooting and hunting or should I wait another year?

i learned to shoot at three, shooting at bottles in a creek.
my son is 5 & not really ready to learn to shoot as he's not
good at paying attention to his surroundings. we have done
some target shooting with him, but he needs real close
supervision.
no 3 or 4 year old has the patience to "go hunting" unless
you don't expect to *see* any game, never mind shoot any. kids
that age are noisy, wiggley & get bored easy. unless you want
them to *hate* hunting, leave them home until closer to 10 or
12. if you want to do outdoors stuff with 3 or 4 year olds, go
fishing.

Of course! Kids and guns go together like egg rolls and duck sauce.
Give your kid a shotgun, have him point it at your head, and tell him pull
the trigger. Ta-da!

To be honest with you teaching a 3 or 4 year old to shoot a gun would
be a mistake. Read the articles at this website link and I think you
would change your mind:
http://www.news-press.com/apps/pbcs....508290407/1075

Here is portion of the news articles that I copied and pasted from
that website:

The 2-year-old Fort Myers Shores boy who was shot at his home Sunday
remained is in critical condition in a St. Petersburg hospital on
Monday, according to Lee County sheriff's officials.

The boy's name is Philip A. Blasone, said sheriff's spokesman
Angelo Vaughn, and his parents are Phillip James Blasone, 38, and
Kristen Kohl, 26.

Similar incidents include:

" In October 2003, a 6-year-old boy accidentally shot his 6-year-old
cousin in a Lehigh Acres home with a Hendry County sheriff's deputy's
gun. The gun was in the deputy's top dresser drawer. The girl suffered
a gunshot wound to the neck, but survived."

In my state, kids can't hunt until they're twelve. What's your hurry?

one we get every time school is back in session)

This person posts in just about every group I look at. I think the
cross-posting (which I removed) is an attempt to get traffic in obscure
groups.

actually a child that is taught how to properly shoot *and*
to respect guns, is far less likely to shoot a
playmate/sibling. a child that knows about guns knows they are
not toys, they are tools with a specific purpose, and you
don't play with them.
my 5 year old is a bit scatterbrained sometimes, but he would
not ever play with a gun. he knows better. yes, we have guns.
yes, he knows how to shoot, clean a gun (his favorite part),
break it down & put it securely away (we store guns in one
place, ammo in another & the bolts in a third, none of which
the kid has access to.
i realize there is a rabid anti-gun segment of the
population, but i don't live in a city. i don't live in
suburbia. i'm a farmer. guns are a tool, like a tractor or a
horse team. they are a necessity to protect my livestock from
predators & add food to my table.

no, trolls "score" each other on responses, which are
crossposted to the obscure groups in the followups so they can
be tracked easier. they don't really want to have to read the
trolled group to see responses.

Yes. You and your kiddies should get a one-way ticket for a chopper into New
Orleans to see the shooting demonstrations there. Make sure you drink the
water; it's very good for you.
