Probably better off playing Thelonius Monk on an ipod strapped to your
pregnant belly. Or watch as they gape at Dylan Thomas reciting "The
Ballad of the Long Legged Bait" (does such a recording exist? I'd love
to hear it.) And what, exactly, do these presumptuous teachers of the
challenged suggest that we read to our infants? I hear the Unabomber's
Mom used to read them Scientific American articles. What should
today's infant be ingesting in terms of literature? Something written
by the authors' friends, specially designed to get those neurons
badda-bingin' and a swingin' in divine syncopation?
