My doctor and nurses always told me to stop taking the pill 6 months before
trying to conceive so the hormones in the pill wont affect the baby...
good luck!

This is really outdated advice. The hormones in the pills are out of your body
within a few days. (That's why you get a period a few days after you take the
last pill in the pack!)
Even if you get pregnant while on the pill, there is no evidence of harm to the
baby.

So, do I stop moving as soon as I have a positive test? Does that
mean I have to sit on the loo the entire pregnancy?

No, you have to stop moving as soon as you conceive.... (I remember reading
some old sex manual that claimed that Spanish women were less fertile than most
other women because they were ... uh ... passionate ... and moved during sex.)

ROFL!

I thought conception didn't occur until a few days after. Or do Spanish men
have Quick-Sperm(TM)?

This was a REALLY old sex manual. (Of the 'lie there and think of England' era.

O these can be so much fun! I recall bouts of laughter when my
mom lent me her pregnancy 'manual' that she got when she was
pregnant with me...

how long would it usually take for me to get pregnant once I'm
stop taking the pills? I know it varies but would it take a long time in
general ?

My sister got pregnant the first month after stopping the pill.
YMMV.

Also, there's a chance that my husband will be transferred abroad later this
year and I will have to move with him. My question is, would it be allright
for me to be pregnant if we move around ?

I don't know. Being pregnant is hard on the body. Some women
sail through pregnancy. Other, like me, have a hard time with
pregnancy. It will depend on that. If you are really concerned,
talk with a doctor.
