How would you determine when it is appropriate to introduce children
to guns?

Obviously, the determinant of that should be maturity and
developmental level of the child and not some arbitrary age. But what
would constitute a child who is mature enough to be introduced to
guns?

When a kid points it's finger & goes bang... Then they are old enought
to start learning. Get the toy guns & teach them how to clean them
properly... Take them to a firing range & let them shoot a real one
so that they learn the difference between Mommy & Daddy's guns vs the
Kids toys. Lets say they have some super soakers... they decide the
living room floor is the place to put it... well when they go to get it
they discover the watergun is in time out for a week. THis teaches
proper care of firearms & responsibility.

Around 13 you get the pellot gun ONLY IF they have shown that when
they are done playing cowboys or war that they clean & put away the
toy guns. they prove they are responsible with a pellot gun then move
up the cal.
