Default Any suggestions please?

I've been bfing DD since she was born on 21st July 2003. However, I've
always found it easier on the right hand side, especially since my left
nipple is inverted, so have mostly fed her on the right (silly, I know, but
I'd like to rectify it now). Because of this, the left side supply has
dwindled. If I keep on at the pumping, should it come back up again?

Also, how much is "average" to get at one pumping session? I pumped this
morning on the right side, but only got 1 ounce. This hasn't been an issue
until now, but I'm going to have to return to work, so need to be able to
get a reasonable amount at each pumping.

Is there anything I can do to increase supply?

Thanks in advance.

My last baby had a strong preference for the right side, and I think Cheryl
S. here is going through the same thing now. Towards the end of her
exclusive nursing, it was rare that I would even offer the left breast
because I knew she wouldn't nurse. I was lopsided for a few months, but now
it seems to have evened itself out.
I did pump for work for a few months, and I never got as much from the left
as the right.
As far as average amounts for pumping, I don't think there's set standards.
Some women can pump, some can't. I did well enough for DD to have enough
bottles at daycare for the day (I think the most ever was 32 ounces a day).
I didn't build up a freezer stash until I quit working full time and pumped
while I was home.

*G* My DS initially prefered my right, but now we both favor the left,
because I find it easier to hold a book with my right hand uppermost,
and he likes to sleep on his right side.

My left side has always had less output... Even
with regular pumping, it's stayed the same, so I
don't know if your pumping will help.

Did you pump after a nursing? When I do that, I
usually get very little. At work, when I pump
without having nursed, I average 4 oz. per
session. I started pumping about 1 session a
day at 2 months and got 1 oz. each time. That
gradually increased over time.

Is there anything I can do to increase supply?

I know there are lots of herbs and stuff, but
the only things I do are (1) lots of oatmeal
and (2) drink lots of anything -- water, soup,
juice.
