Default how to prevent TV from tipping over?

I have heard stories of TV's getting tipped over on top of kids, and have
noticed that my own 32" tube tv is quite "front heavy" and can easily be
tipped forward.

I'd like to find some sort of solution to this problem, that will keep the
TV in place. Perhaps a strap with a ratchet type clip, or maybe some sort of
bracked that attaches to the back of the TV?

I have not had much luck searching stores nor searching the internet. Any
advise would be much appreciated.

thanks!

I know Best Buy has something behind their tv's strapping them down. Can
you ask them what those things are called? Go look for yourself. Maybe
they even sell them.

The TVs at school have a ratchet strap going all the way around them, and
bolted on both sides to the cart for this purpose.

Our Tv sits on a wooden unit that is much longer and wider than the Tv(68cm)
and it sits back further so the weight is more at the back , has 2 or 3
inches clear in front of the Tv before the edge of the unit, it is very
stable,does that make any sense?

As most Californians can attest, you can get straps for your TV in any
earthquake preparedness store. We have them on our large TVs and although
they haven't been tested to the total ability of the straps yet (and
hopefully they never will be), I've been told by those who know that they
work quite well.

Try one of these:

http://www.totsafe.com/products.asp?cat=7
("Safety Locking Straps 2-pack")
http://www.kidsmartliving.com/tvsafetystraps.html

Those were the two different kinds of systems I could find (though
several different online stores had them, so these links may not
be the best price).

Best wishes,
Ericka

Tried it already. Sadly, it doesn't work despite the sound logic.
