Homebirth Conference Dilemma

Ina May Gaskin. Jo, you might enjoy some vicarious venting, hearing Henci Goer's polemics, but frankly Ms. Gaskin's topic sounds far more useful. I would want my midwife to choose Ms. Gaskin. I am getting really tired of hearing "of course she had to have a C section, no point to a trial of labor; her twins were breech". Often, the breech condition was observed weeks before the EDD, followed by a cascade of interventions. Yup, that's my thinking so far. The whole conference is based around rural women's childbirth options (or lack thereof!) so I'm sure there will be a lot of political discussion anyway. To tell you the truth, Ina May is why I'm flying across the other side of the country with my 1yo for this! Thanks for putting it clearer in my mind Jo -- Woman, Wife, Mother, Midwife |
