Thanks I'll take a peek. I'm charting although my BBT have been kind of

shudder at buying OPKs also :0

In any case, the plan would only work if you were approximating a
regular cycle! The timing is pretty good though.

In my case, however, with a 40-43 day cycle, poor DH would be
exhausted by the time O came along!

For the past few years I've been a regular 28-29 days except for a month
here and there. I think back in July or Aug I went 35 days but that is
pretty unusual for me now.

Congratulations to any early birds who know they're pregnant already!

Is
it a shock, or a much-awaited blessing? How many pregnancy tests did
you have to take before you believed it? Any symptoms yet?

For our TTC members, how is the journey going? Need to vent, cry,

yell
a bit? Feeling hopeful? Into the 2ww? Lots and lots of baby dust to
you all. I know there are lurkers as well as the visible ttc'ers

here,
and some ttc'ers who are staying silent on the subject or still

deciding
whether to really go for it. Everyone should feel welcome in this
community... please know that we're cheering you on with all our

hearts.
Hopefully there will be some new due date updates from some of you

who
have had such a long, tough haul so far.

For any new members, hello and welcome! Have you started ttc (trying

to
conceive)? Feel free to send an introduction, or keep us updated as

you
look for signs of the big O (ovulation) by charting your BBT (basal

body
temperature), do some BD (baby dancing), cross your fingers during the
2ww (two week wait, after ovulation but before a pregnancy test will
show anything), and then hopefully send your own new due date
message out! You'll often see TCOYF referred to: it's the fabulous

book
_Taking Charge of Your Fertility_ by Toni Weschler, available from
Amazon and many bookstores. It talks all about how to chart your
fertility signs, both for pregnancy and for birth control, and is an
incredibly valuable way to learn about your own body. Highly
recommended reading for anyone starting down the road to pregnancy.
Welcome to the group.

Just thought I would chime in. Still TTC I think. I was hopeful for this
time but I think AF is starting. It's mainly brown so still a chance

that
it's implantation bleeding but it has been in the past on the first day

in
past regular AFs. I was REALLY hoping to be pregnant as a belated

Christmas
present. In fact. it's all I wanted for Christmas so I'm a bit depressed
that it looks like it hasn't happened. I'm still depressed over the m/c

in
early Nov at 6 wks. Put me in a bit of a funk for this holiday season.

Can I
say (and I know I am not alone) that I hate the 2WW as I am so hopeful

and
then AF barges in. I know I should be grateful for my son and I really

am -
he's my world. But still, I so want another little one :-(

I hear you. The holidays can be tough, can't they? I know I couldn't
help but make it a mental deadline. I am a couple of days away from
testing, trying not to get my hopes up. I remarked to my DH yesterday
that this past 5 months has been the longest stretch in 2003 that I've
gone without getting/being pregnant. I know I was pretty happy to turn
the page on that calendar though, and look forward to 2004. Here's to
it being our year!

That's the way I am trying to look at it. 2003 had heartache so 2004 will be
better (or at least I *hope*). Of course my DH made the remark that we've
only been trying a couple of months and I had to remind him that it's been
since July and that a couple of months ago was when I had my m/c. He seemed
blown away by that. He's been incredibly busy and I think the time just
really got away from him.

This cycle is just about my least
favourite and I am joining weigh****chers again tomorrow, so maybe I
have done enough to invoke sods law this year!

Good luck with weight watchers!

I just started working again (15 hours/week) after 3 years at home - it
would be super ironic if I happen to get pg exactly when I'm *not* at
home any more! But while I'd like to get some money into the family
economy at least for a few months, there's nothing I'd rather do than
resign because I'm pregnant and prefer to pet my belly all day long :-)

I'm a little late responding here, but thought I'd chime in anyway!

I'm in the TTC category, and things are a bit at a standstill. I came
off the pill at the end of October, and I haven't gotten my period
since, which I think means I'm not ovulating either. It's really
frustrating! (And a little ironic since it wasn't too long ago that
I'd have been thrilled to not have my period and not be getting
pregnant!)

I called my OB to see how long I should wait before seeking medical
intervention, and she had me schedule an appointment to come in. I'm
hoping she'll give me something to jumpstart my period so I can become
regular again and actually have a shot at TTC.

cheers,

Aviva

Oh no, Aviva, that's really too bad :-( I know how it feels, not having
ovulated since August myself ... I hope your doctor can give you
something to help!

Jenn, so sorry it didn't work out this cycle! Hope the next one is the
one! I do think things usually start happeneing when you stop thinking
about them, so try to occupy yourself with other activities or with your
little one.
Good luck to you!

Thanks, Tatjana! I'm optimistic that this can be dealt with soon. I
can't imagine coping with it for as long as you have! I hope your body
starts cooperating and you have good news to share soon.

Hi to everyone,

I have been lurking here for quite some time. For *some* unknown
reason I have been unable to post to y'all. I have written several
heart felt posts and responses but they never made it out into the
ether. My DH, the computer software engineer, finally fixed it after I
threatened him severe bodily harm.

My story is long. DH and I have been TTC for 16 months. In these 16
months I have only had 9 cycles. We finally agreed to go to see the
IF person at our hospital and wouldn't you know it, I am having
symptoms of PG. I am currently on CD43 and 12dpo. I do not want to get
my hopes up right now because it is hard to get them up again, but at
the same time, I want to be hopeful. ACK My cycles are literally all
over the place. 48cycle days,37, 58, 33, 59, 46, 37. The pattern
looks at first to be as if one of the ovaries is mis-firing and no
cycle is happening at all that month. Does anyone here have experience
with a misfire of this sort? Or am I just thinking too hard.

I am so glad that I have mkp to get some of this off my chest and to
talk about it. DH is a sweet sweet man and a gem but frankly, I think
that he is tired of hearing about it.

Hi Cindy. Welcome. Glad that dh fixed the problem so you didn't have to
fix him ; )

I'm sorry about your wacky cycles. Slightly strange question, but here
goes -- are you short and overweight, slightly or more? Have you looked
into PCOS -- PolyCystic Ovarian Syndrome? Check out www.pcosupport.org, or
www.pcos.net. It's a type of insulin resistance. It may explain your long
varied cycles. It seems a common issue with short heavy women. Just a
hunch, sorry if I'm way off base...

Good luck with this cycle, and I hope everything works out for you, and
soon.
